Project Details
The Project Details page shows various details and views of the TCO analysis. It provides different views of the OpEx and rCapEx amounts - current and projected - based on Target Instance Platform Type, Projected Pathway of sources that will not be migrated, total costs of the instance, and by each Instance Group. In addition to the costs, it provides high-level details of the sources (migrated, retained, retired, target instance type, source instance types).
The Project Details page
The sections displayed on the page are:
Instance Target By Platform Type shows the number of planned target instances, regardless of how many sources are migrated to them. Counts and costs are separated by target type - DBaaS (Database as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service).
Project Pathway: shows how many sources are scheduled to move and how many are not.
Totals: shows the number of target instances, the current and projected costs (OpEx and rCapEx), and an estimate of how long the project will take.
Instance Group: shows the OpEx and projected rCapEx amounts for each instance group.
Database Retention: shows the total number of sources that will be migrated, retained in the current environment, or retired.
Retained Databases: shows the number of sources that will not be migrated, broken down by source type.
Migrating Databases by Source Engine: shows the total number of sources that will be migrated, broken down by source type.
Instance Counts by CloudSQL Details: shows the total number of target instances by CloudSQL database types, including if HA (High Availability) and number of locations configured.
Instance Counts by Cloud Spanner Details: shows the total number of source instances going into Cloud Spanner targets. For each instance group, it shows the number of sources migrated into Cloud Spanner, the number of regional and multi-region Spanner instances, and the number of distinct regions across the spanner instances.
Databases Retiring within Migration Duration Period: shows the total number of sources by source type that will be retired by the time the migration is completed.
Databases Retiring beyond the Migration Duration Period: shows the total number of sources by source type that will be retired after the migration is completed.
OpEx Factor Costs: shows a breakdown of the factors that contribute to OpEx amounts, along with a comparison of current and projected costs, as well as their impact on total current and projected OpEx amounts.
Residual CapEx Factor Costs: shows a breakdown of the factors that affect the rCapEx amounts, along with a comparison of current and projected costs, as well as their impact on the total current and projected rCapEx amounts.
Any changes made within the Database Instances, Cloud Instances, or Instance Groups sections under Project Details or within the Licenses, Physical Infrastructure, or IT Support & Maintenance sections under Enterprise Questionnaire will be reflected on this dashboard. Depending on the changes made, one may see changes to the OpEx and/or rCapEx amounts or changes to the source information, such as source type, target type, retention.
